Pretty as a Peacock

Peacocks signify wisdom, grace, beauty, and nobility. They were my main source of styling inspiration for our wedding, and will always remind me of that special day. These bad boys are dressed to impress, and will go to great lengths to catch a pretty lady's attention!

I've been ogling this magnificent peacock mirror for years. At first, I wasn't sure if it was a bit too ostentatious for my taste. Over time, however, I found myself increasingly mesmerized every time I laid eyes on its organic lines and saw the spray of light it sends glittering around a room. This is an exotic variation of a sunburst mirror that would bring a heavy dose of glamour to any traditional or modern space. It is devastatingly beautiful.

Alas, the mirror comes with an equally devastating price tag. Its $2,399 - $4,400 tickets have kept me strictly admiring from afar. I actually gasped out loud the other night while flipping through Restoration Hardware's spring catalog. RH is offering a peacock mirror for a mere $895! ~Insert Chris' rolling eyes here~  Still an absurd amount to be paying for a mirror, but quite a steal compared to Mecox Gardens and Wisteria's prices. Hey, a girl can dream :)

Bed-azzled

Our new bed has arrived, and it is spectacular! The Virgina Bed is a lovely fusion of the canopy and iron elements that I adore. Its sturdy framework makes a solid statement while the railing maintains an open, airy composition. What really made me fall for this bed was the versatility of its removable testers. They allow the frame to transform into a lower-profile silhouette. It's like two beds in one, and I am all about having options.

Bibliophile

One of my all-time favorite Disney moments - Beast revealing the palace library to Belle.

I'm pretty addicted to my Kindle. Can't get enough of it. However, there is simply no replacement for the look, feel, and smell of a cherished book. I grew up in a home filled with books, and find it extremely comforting to be surrounded by an abundance of wonderful literature. I have been building a collection of my own that will someday reside in a fabulous built-in library (complete with rolling ladder). Here are some novels that have claimed permanent estate on my shelves:

~ Childhood oldies but goodies ~

~ Gotta have my classics ~

Last but not least, my latest young adult obsession - the Hunger Games trilogy.

Ever found books you couldn't put down, all the while dreading the day you'd finish them?
I'd love to hear about your favorite reads!
